Inflor

Inflor needed to improve visibility into what needed to be done, control over deadlines and the team's ability to meet them, and deliver customized projects more quickly and securely. Promove helped Inflor implement an integrated process that encompasses demand management from the Service Desk to software delivery, all the way through the entire development cycle. See this case study for the methodology implemented and the results achieved.

About a company

Segment – Technology for Biological Asset Management, GISagri, SAP Consulting, Forest Management System, Agricultural Management System, and Social Investment Management System.

Size – Medium

Objective – To increase the productivity of the IT team without increasing costs.

INFLOR is a market leader in forest management systems. It offers comprehensive and exclusive technology for managing biological assets. With over 20 years of experience, its solutions help people maximize performance in managing forestry and agricultural assets, enabling companies and producers to leverage their profits through the conscious use of natural resources and socio-environmental respect. Its core mission is to transform technology into true roots.

The problem

In recent years, INFLOR has grown and begun serving a much wider range of large clients, both within and outside Brazil. Given this scenario, operational demands have grown significantly, and existing processes and methods are no longer adequate for the scale of this operation. It was necessary to improve visibility of what needed to be done and control over deadlines and the team's capacity to meet them. Added to this is the need to deliver the required customization demands more quickly and securely.

Solution

ProMove assisted in implementing an integrated process that involves managing demands from the Service Desk to the delivery of these demands in software form, including the entire development cycle. Within this solution, Service Desk service levels were structured, along with the definition and implementation of automatically controlled SLAs. Support and development responsibilities were redefined. All development is based on Sprints, which are organized synchronously and based on a release plan. All projects and support demands are controlled according to this model.

Agile practices were implemented for prioritization, planning, estimation, capability analysis, and development. DevOps practices are currently being implemented to improve product quality and facilitate deployment across production and pre-production environments.

Hardware

The implementation of service management and development processes at INFLOR was established based on the Atlassian Jira Service Desk and Jira Software suite, accompanied by some plugins to support the specificities of INFLOR's operations.

Results

Although implementation is still ongoing, greater visibility into what's happening at all levels of the operation is evident. This already brings significant benefits to the organization's decision-making. Over time, team productivity is expected to increase, enabling more agile service delivery to those needs that add the most value to INFLOR's customers. Furthermore, customer satisfaction with the services provided and the quality of deliveries is expected to improve.

"From the beginning, ProMove understood our scenario and unique needs, allowing us to prioritize what's truly most important at any given moment. Despite being at the beginning of the project, we've already seen several benefits," Geovany Spalenza, IT Director at INFLOR.
